On 16th August 2018, severe flooding affected the state of Kerala due to unusually high rainfall during the monsoon season. Mainly affected Chengannur, Pandanad, Aranmula, Aluva, Chalakudy, Kuttanad & Pandalam. All 14 districts of the state were placed on high alert. The project aims to help over 1,500 families will increase as we grow here & as we gather resources.
Challenge In several districts of Kerala state, HEAVY MONSOON RAINS caused severe flooding & have killed over 375 people. The floods have paralyzed the normal life of millions of people. Torrential rains have triggered flash floods and landslides, wreaking havoc in Kerala. The situation worsened, hundreds of houses were damaged & thousands of families are forced to take shelter in relief camps. The flood victims are in desperate need of relief support to survive and get back to their normal life.
The project aims to support relief work in affected areas of Kerala in coordination with different volunteers & nonprofits in the worst-hit areas. To provide URGENT RELIEF to the flood victims

- Relief Kit (Dry Ration: Lentils, Species, Rice, Pulses, Spices, Sugar, Tea, Rava) – 9000

- Mosquito nets – 500
20,000 families directly benefited with Relief Kits & in long term, we always believe in access to basic rights: food, shelter, and health – changes everything. We are continued to monitor the situation and evaluate needs for longer-term sustainable livelihood reconstruction for the most deprived flood victims. With our relief work, flood victims of the badly affected areas to come back to their normal life. We try to increase women’s livelihood opportunities & children’s education needs.

The Kerala State Disaster Management Authority has placed the state in a red alert as a result of the intense flooding. The flooding has affected hundreds of villages, destroyed an estimated 10,000 km of roads, and thousands of homes have been damaged or destroyed.
The Kerala flood is a very serious and dangerous disaster which in last concluded many effects and harmed to the scenic beauty of Kerala and destroyed many agricultural crops. This also harmed many lives over 483 people died, and 140 are missing and many lives were also lost during it.
Kerala Flood relief Overview:
It was the worst flood in Kerala in nearly a century after the great flood of 99 that took place in 1924. Over 483 people died, and 140 are missing. The Healthier Hearts Foundation worked tirelessly saving affected people and distributed relief materials. Overall our team reaches flood-affected areas are we unsecured conditions after all we served to Kerala is a great experience.
